Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data developerdaily.uk handles, why, and what you can do about it. The controller is Kalc Ltd, trading as Developer Daily (company number 14579656, registered in England and Wales), 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. Contact: hello@developerdaily.uk.
Visit statistics
We count visits so we can see which stories people watch and where they came from. We use this only for statistics, never for advertising, and we do not use Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok or any other third-party tracker.
- Your browser keeps one random session id in session storage. It is deleted when you close the tab. There is no long-lasting visitor id and no fingerprinting.
- We record: the page and story cards you view, clip plays, clicks to a developer's video or profile, whether you saw or closed the sign-up box, and whether you signed up or sent a message.
- From your first visit in a session we record: campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), the website that sent you (domain only), whether you are in the Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or YouTube app browser, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), which part of the page you landed on, and your country.
- We never store your IP address. To stop abuse, we keep a salted, scrambled version of it for no more than 24 hours, and the salt changes every day.
- Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and the UK statistics exemption for storage on your device (PECR as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025).
- Raw records are deleted after 14 months. Before that, they are rolled up into daily totals that contain no personal data, which we keep.
You can object at any time: press "Opt out" on the notice, or use the "Statistics opt-out" switch in the footer. After that your browser sends nothing. We also respect Global Privacy Control. See our cookies page.
The mailing list
- We collect your email address and your tick on: "Yes, email me new deals from Developer Daily. I can unsubscribe at any time."
- You are added when you tick the box and press the button, and we send you a welcome email straight away. As proof of consent we keep the wording you agreed to, the time, the channel you came from and the story you landed on.
- Lawful basis: consent. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- When you unsubscribe, your subscriber record is deleted straight away. We keep your email address on a suppression list so we never email you again, and keep the consent history as a record.
- If someone signs you up without asking you, one click on the unsubscribe link in that welcome email removes you for good.
- Emails are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.), which processes your address on our behalf.
Messages and corrections
If you send us a deal or a correction we keep what you give us (name, email, company, link and message) to reply and to check the story. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We delete these after 24 months. A copy is emailed to us.
Developer reports
We may share totals with a developer we featured, such as card views and clicks to their video. These reports contain no personal data.
Where data is stored
The site and database are hosted by our providers (Lovable, with database infrastructure from Supabase and hosting on Cloudflare). Some processing may take place outside the UK under standard contractual safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing or withdraw consent. Email hello@developerdaily.uk. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
